1.Reuben Wilbanks Descendants (pdf file)
Reuben WILBANKS and his wife, Martha “Patsy” Haley, were first on record in Lincoln County, Tennessee in 1840. Patsy Haley was still listed as living with her parents in that county in 1830, so it is likely she married Reuben between 1830 and 1834, when the couple’s first child was born. No marriage record has ever been found for Reuben and Patsy nor has Reuben been located in any census in 1830.
Reuben and Patsy Wilbanks had ten children:
Unknown Girl Wilbanks,
Mary Wilbanks
William B. Wilbanks
Martha Wilbanks
John Wesley Wilbanks
Richard Wilbanks
Jackson W. Wilbanks
Reuben Wilbanks
Joseph Pinckney Wilbanks
Jeremiah Wilbanks (my line)
The Wilbanks family migrated from Lincoln Co., Tennessee to Saline Co., Arkansas circa 1856. Reuben Wilbanks died in Arkansas between 1857-1860. Patsy (Haley) Wilbanks is presumed to have died there before 1870. Many descendants still reside in Arkansas today.
Reuben Wilbanks’ parents are not known. It is possible that he is the son of William Wilbanks, b. ca. 1776, who resided in Murray & Walker Co., GA and who died ca. 1859 in Madison Co., AL. Patsy Haley’s parents were Charles Haley and Mary “Polly” Walker, both born bet. 1766-1775 in North Carolina and Virginia, respectively.
